Master of the Arts in Surveillance Studies

In an attempt to provide a specialized academic platform to discuss the various issues arising from the increasing presence of surveillance technologies in our day to day lives, City University London is this year offering an MA course in a Surveillance Studies. The University's information on the course can be found here.

It is an inter-disciplinary degree taking in Sociology, Media Studies etc. and seeks to explore how and why data is stored and collected. Of course, this is pertinent to our own course, as we too are studying how constant surveillance affects us, and how it is presented in films such as Red Road. Quite how such a thing could be expanded to a full 4 year degree course is unclear to me, but what is clear it's that CCTV Culture has now become such a pressing concern in our society that there is now a designated degree to discuss it.
